Overview

A Balanced Parenting Philosophy begins to tackle perhaps the most rewarding and most trying responsibility God has given us – parenting. The Christian family is an optimal context for life-on-life discipleship since parents have such tremendous influence in the lives of their children. Children are essentially parents’ primary disciples. If you are not in the parenting stage of life, you can still apply the truth and equipping found in these units, especially if you plan to have children one day.

In this Journey Section you will:

• Remember that life-on-life discipleship is a process of transferring spiritual life from one person to another so that they become a mature and equipped follower of Christ for the lost world.
• Consider how the Lord disciplines us in love. 
• Learn from Ephesians about instructive, preventive, and corrective discipline. 
• Dialogue about and encourage one another through the joys and struggles of parenting

Randy Pope is the founding pastor of Perimeter Church in Johns Creek, Georgia. He is in his 53rd consecutive year of discipling a few men. His personal passion and commitment is to make and train disciples of Christ. He is the founder and President of Life on Life Ministries, an organization committed to establishing life-on-life missional discipleship in churches worldwide.
