Units

  • Unit 1 - The Humility of Christ
  • Unit 2 - Humility in Practice
  • Unit 3 - Pursuing Humility

Overview

This is a TEAMS study created for the Journey from the book Humility: The Beauty of Holiness by Andrew Murray. (Book Purchase Necessary)

Humility, Andrew Murray argues, is the one, single virtue that every Christian ought to pursue. It is the source of every other mark of holiness in the believer, and pride, the opposite of humility, is the source of all sin. Our very Savior humbled Himself unto the point of death to secure our salvation and receive the name that is above all names. King Jesus is the humble servant of all. To actively pursue humility and be conformed into His humble image, then, should be of the chief concern for every Christian. But, as Murray argues, it rarely is.

In this Journey Section you will:

  • Explore the humility demonstrated in the life and teachings of Jesus
  • Examine how humility is demonstrated in real life
  • Explore the marks of true humility and the fruit that pursuing humility brings

Andrew Murray (1828-1917) was a well-known South African writer, teacher, and pastor. More than two million copies of his books have been sold, and his name is mentioned among the other great leaders of the past, such as Charles Spurgeon, T. Austin-Sparks, George Muller, D. L. Moody, and more.
